Role overview:

We are looking for a passionate and results-driven Key Account Manager to join our growing team, where your contributions will make a real difference. Based in the DACH region, you will be managing and growing our largest key accounts in the dynamic e-commerce sector. This role is not just about maintaining relationships - it's about working collaboratively to create growth opportunities, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to the success of both our clients and our team.

You will be joining a diverse and dynamic sales team made up of Key Account Managers and Business Developers, where collaboration, respect, and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. This role reports directly to the Director of E-commerce for the DACH region.

What you will do:

Account Development & Sales Growth: Actively manage and develop a portfolio of key accounts by identifying opportunities for cross-sell and upsell. You will be instrumental in helping clients achieve their goals while driving our company's success.
Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, positive relationships with key accounts and become a trusted partner. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by aligning with clients' strategic needs and translating them into growth opportunities.
New Business Acquisition: Occasionally engage in acquiring new key accounts to grow the business and broaden our client base.
Sales Negotiation: Use your excellent negotiation skills to secure long-term, mutually beneficial agreements with C-level decision-makers.
Strategic Planning & Problem Solving: Proactively identify solutions and develop account plans that ensure ongoing success for both the client and Planet. You'll be thinking ahead to prevent issues and take a forward-thinking approach.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Internal Alignment:
Serve as the central liaison between key accounts and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across support teams, onboarding, product, and marketing. You will play a critical role in translating client needs into actionable insights, coordinating internal efforts to deliver exceptional value, and fostering a unified approach to account success.

Who you are:

Deep understanding of the E-Commerce industry , including payment flows, industry regulations, market trends and key challenges in payment acquiring and settlement processes.
Technical Acumen in E-Commerce Payments : Hands-on experience with payment gateway integrations and a solid grasp of payment infrastructure, APIs, and transaction flows.
Sales Experience : A strong background in sales is essential for success in this role. You've demonstrated success in growing accounts and achieving business goals through cross-selling and upselling.
Key Account Management : Solid experience in managing key accounts, with a focus on delivering exceptional client solutions and driving mutual growth.
Fluent in German (mother tongue) and English.
Negotiation & Communication Skills : Ability to confidently lead high-level negotiations with senior stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels.
Proactive Problem-Solving : You have a proactive mindset, can spot issues before they arise, and are skilled in developing long-term strategic plans to support both the client and Planet.
Sales-Driven & Growth-Oriented : You're always looking for ways to help clients grow while driving new opportunities for Planet. Your sales instincts will help us take key accounts to the next level.
Team Collaboration : We're looking for a team player who values collaboration and respects diverse perspectives.
Relationship Builder : Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and lasting partnerships with clients.
Strategic & Innovative : You think ahead, strategically planning and providing creative solutions that align with our clients' needs and objectives.
Business Acumen & IT Knowledge : While a technical background is not required, familiarity with e-commerce and IT-based products is beneficial.
Sector Knowledge - Retail and/or Transportation : Experience or strong understanding of the retail and/or transportation verticals is highly beneficial. As many of our strategic opportunities lie within these sectors, familiarity with their operational models, customer journeys, and payment-related challenges will support effective client engagement and solution positioning.
